Polaris Insight Center offers ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in a group setting.
Each group consists of a small number of clients who meet together with one or two therapists depending on the size of the group.
Groups vary in duration. There are two different KAP group experiences we offer: KAP intensive treatment group and KAP booster group.
Polaris KAP Group
Ketamine Assisted Group Therapy at Polaris Insight Center is offered exclusively for those who are interested in undergoing intensive ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) in a group setting.
The group consists of 3 – 4 patients and meets for 4 experiential sessions (4 hours each), along with a 90-minute preparation session and two 90-minute integration sessions (following KAP session #2 and #4), and runs for approximately 5 weeks.
The first step is an initial individual intake session with a psychologist and physician at the clinic. The intake involves a comprehensive psychological and medical evaluation and screening for any risk factors. If you are not a good candidate for the group, then alternative treatment options will be discussed and/ or a referral will be made.
The total for the group is $3175. The $450 fee for the intake will go toward the total fee for the group, if you are determined to be a good candidate. All participants need to be engaged in outside psychotherapy in order to qualify for the group.
Referrals for psychotherapy can be provided as needed. The group meets on Thursday and Monday afternoons; specific dates TBD. Please contact Dr. Eric Sienknecht at email@example.com with further questions.
IM Ketamine Booster Group
Polaris Insight Center offers IM Ketamine Booster Group. This group is for past and current Polaris Insight Center patients only and you can be referred to the group by your treating therapist. The cost of the group is $650.
We will be holding booster groups for existing patients on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at our clinic: 4257 18th Street, San Francisco, CA, 94114. These will be IM ketamine groups and will be facilitated by a senior therapist and a nurse practitioner. Group size will be limited to 4 people per group. Fee is $650 per session.
All referrals to group will be coordinated through your primary Polaris therapist. In case you are interested in attending a booster group session, the first step is to contact and consult with your primary therapist to discuss potential participation. Once you and primary therapist have agreed that the group is appropriate, you will be able to sign up for the group.
Dr. Harvey Schwartz will be the contact person for ongoing scheduling and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The group will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Following the experiential phase of the session, there will be a short group sharing.
As with individual sessions, participants are asked to refrain from food 4 hours and liquids 1 hour prior to the session. Arrangement for a friend/partner for pick up/drop off or use of Uber/Lyft is required.
